  Letter from the Director

August 20, 2014

Dear First Baptist Academy Parents,

On behalf of the staff of First Baptist Academy and our First Baptist School Committee, welcome to a new and exciting preschool year! We thank you for choosing FBA for your child/children. We honor and respect the trust you have placed in us by enrolling them here. Let us assure you of our strong faith in God and our willingness to allow Him to guide us in all decisions made here at FBA. It is our plan to provide a positive Christian environment in which the children will grow and develop.

Our classrooms and learning areas are designed not only for lessons in age appropriate skills, but also with the ever constant thought of keeping forward the model of Christ who said “Let the children come to me; do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly, I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall never enter it.” Luke 18:16-17.

In 2011, the Lord led me to FBA. I had been teaching in the public school system for several years. I loved my career, yet I could feel the Lord leading me to do something different in my life. After resigning from Kanawha County Schools in 2011, I took on the role of the lead two year old teacher here at the academy. In 2013, I began helping direct our summer program, Summer in the Son. This fall begins my second year as the director of FBA. Working in the house of the Lord and being part of the ministry of FBA blesses my life every day. Watching the children play, grow and learn about the love of Jesus in a Christian environment brings joy to my heart. As the director of FBA, I am eager to meet each family, new & returning, and begin our school year together.

Health, safety and learning are always in our thoughts as we prepare for each day. In this handbook, we have outlined our policies and procedures. Please read it carefully. We welcome your visits, calls and involvement.

Dear Father, be our teacher as we begin a new year at First Baptist Academy. Guide us in every decision we make. Let us be a visible example of you as we work with these little children. Keep us all healthy and safe. Help us learn academic skills and about you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In His Service,
Chrissy Zamberlan, Director
